PURPOSE OF TRAINING:
The purpose of this training is to provide a specific focus on trauma impacting individuals with an intellectual/developmental disability (IDD). The BHARP Dual Diagnosis Workgroup recognized that there have been limited trauma trainings targeting this population and made bringing a training of this type as a workgroup goal.
- Presentation on trauma for ID with the objectives of learning to observe from a trauma informed perspective.
- Gathering the history of traumatic pasts and recognizing trauma in adults and children with developmental disabilities
- Best practices in regard to treatment and modalities available for ID.
- Therapeutic tools and a risk screening.
The targeted audience for this training will be Supports Coordination Organizations (SCOs), Behavior Specialists/Behavior Support providers, Direct Care providers/professionals, HCQU staff and County ID Directors/AEs and other county personnel.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS:
General CEU’s will be offered.
