Children’s Services

In order to assure effective coordination of services to children and adolescents within the NC State Option Region, the BHARP established the Children’s Committee.  The Committee is facilitated by the BHAU, and the members represent County CASSP Coordinators, SCAs, MH/MR Administrators, Human Services Directors and representatives from County Children, Youth and Families Offices, Community Care Behavioral Health, and OMHSAS.

While the Committee’s efforts have been numerous, special attention has been placed on access to services, continuity of care and quality of care.  The Committee has provided feedback to OMHSAS on bulletins relevant to children’s services and Community Care on policy and program standards.

Additionally, members of the committee participate in DPW and Community Care workgroups addressing issues around children’s services.
